In 2002, the Arizona Mentoring Partnership conducted its underlying research for this Resource Directory. Schools, libraries, community organizations, faith based programs and governmental agencies - statewide - were contacted. AMP asked all existing programs it contacted if they knew of other programs. Programs identified were sent a 40+ question survey for completion.

The returned surveys provided vital baseline data about the state of mentoring in Arizona. We are pleased to share the following graphs which provide this overview. Please note that these graphs were prepared from the responses received from 129 mentoring organizations. The information published is based upon results of survey respondents.

The data collected shows that less than two percent (2%) (12,595) of Arizona's one million school aged-children are presently involved in mentoring relationships. ARIZONA'S CHILDREN DESPERATELY NEED MENTORS.
