Description of Program: The Falcon Leadership Team - Student Mentoring Program is designed to assist students in developing essential life skills that will prepare them for success in school and in the future. Our basic philosophy is "lead by example". By providing positive role models for younger students we can effectively impact their attitudes about school, reduce drug, alcohol and tobacco use and improve attendance. Our focus is in partnering with schools to develop a safe and positive school climate.

Four Peaks Elementary School

Duration of Program: 9 Months
Hours per Month: 4 Hours

Description of Program: We recruit and train volunteers from the community to work one on one with students, grades K-5. Volunteers provide extra academic, social, and emotional support to the students they mentor. The program takes place at McDowell Mountain Elementary School and Four Peaks Elementary School and is under the direction of the schools and teachers.

Description of Program: The Kids Learn FAAST program has been specifically designed to meet the unique needs of children in foster care. Volunteer tutor/mentors provide a stabilizing element to the very transient lives of foster children while helping them to develop both emotionally and scholastically.
